LONDON, Sept. 24,
Mr McCurdy has announced that the new food order limits the gross profits of retailers of fish, fruit, and vegetables to 331-3 per cent.
It is impossible to fix uniform prices for the whole country, and the controlled prices must bo rapidly adjustable to meet sudden fluctuations in the cost; therefore, the Government is empowering local committees to regulate retail prices in their own districts.
