KIRIPAKA POSITION.
STOP-WORK MEETINGS.
Th e Kiripaka miners, in sympathy with their fellow-workers elsewhere, held a stop-work meeting last night, th c Hikurangi procedure of the previous night being followed, in that strict secrecy was observed, and no announcement of any decisions made public.
There is, however, authoritative ground fo r stating that a conference to deal with the matters in dispute and to determine a lin e of action, will be held in Wellington on Wednesday next.
The West Coast miners (as per telegram above) would appear to ■have forestalled events, but it is impossible a t the moment, in the absence of any authoritative information, to say exactly what is the purport of the West Coasters' action.
