King Emanuel also renounces the buildings attached to Crown lands in favour of institutions for succouring war sufferers.
The King has resolved that his private patrimony shall be subjected *o taxation. He continues to dispenie eight thousand pounds sterling to the poor as formerly.
It is anticipated that King's initiative will have a salutory effect on the eve of the Government's levy for a compulsory loan.—A. and N.Z.
