FORWARD MOVEMENT.
In September, at a social afternoon, we had th e pleasure of welcoming M r and Mrs Lochore to our midst. In October we had a gift afternoon for our "Forward Movement," and as a result were able to forward £8 towards the funds of this good work. Owing to the epidemic we missed two meetings during November and December. In January Mrs Budd visited us and gave an interesting address. A collection was taken up for the Indian Mission, and we were able to send away £4 6s. At our February meeting we had Sister Agnes (Miss Lochore), who told us of the Home Mission work she had been doing at Kai Iwi. We had another collection for our "Forward Movement" in May, and we now have another £8 to send away. On account of the epidemic we had only three mission-box openings this year, the amount collected thereby being £37 4s 5Jd. Last year we had four openings, which realised £35 12s s£d, the increase for the past year being £1 12s. .
In June We enjoyed a visit from Dr. Patterson, of our Canton Village Mission. One night Dr. Patterson gave a very interesting lantern lecture on the mission work in Canton, which resulted in the sum of £3 15s being added to the Canton Mission Funds.
