MONDAY WILL DECIDE.
FULL SURRENDER DEMANDED.
ALLIED CONQUEST
CONTINUES IN THE WEST.
GERMAN REVOLUTION
RAPIDLY SPREADING.
Though the conclusion of an armistice with Germany is not yet officially announced, it is obvious from a German report of the mission's personnel that armistice negotiations are proceeding. According to New York and Washington messages the pourparlers opened at 9 a.m. yesterday, but the terms were so drastic that reference to Berlin was deemed essential by the German emissaries, and Marshal Foch agreed to allow 72 hours for arrival at a decision, stipulating that the Allies would not make any coocessions. The issue, therefore, must be decided by Monday morning (French time).
The Kiel revolution has assumed very large proportions, and it is reported that all the warships there are in the hands of the mutineers. Other revolutionaries are said to have taken the port of Altona, on the River Elbe, opposite Hamburg, ,and to have occupied the Apenrade aerodrome in the north of Schleswig. One unconfirmed report says that Hamburg is completely under the domination of the revolters, and later accounts bespeak widespread dissemination of the republican ideal.
According to a Copenhagen cablegram the Allied fleet Which passed through the Dardanelles when Turkey surrendered will anchor off Constantinople to-day.
Several significant developments of the war situation are recorded. One of these is the preparation by Germany for withdrawal from Roumania, and another is the severance of German relation* with the Bolshevik Government. The proclamation of Poland as a republic is also announced.
