DALGETY AND COMPANY.

Messrs Dalgety and Company Limited report having held their Whangarei and Kamo sales on Thursday and Friday. There was en exceptionally large entry of all classes, and buyers were present from Waikato, Hauraki, Waiuku and Pollock. Competition was keen throughout, particularly for good grown steers, heifers and dairy stock. We practically cleared the whole of our entry under the hammer or privately. Prices ruled as follows:—Fat bullocks, £15 10/ to £16 10/; fat cows, £11 to £13 10/; good 4-year bullocks, £13 to £14 5/; others low conditioned, £11 10/ to £12 10/; 3-year steers, £10 5/ to 11 5/; 2-year steers, £8 10/ to £9 10/; yearling steers, £6 10/ to £8; 3-year empty heifers, £7 10/ to £8 10/; 2-year ditto, £6 10/ to £7 5/; yearling heifers, £5 5/ to 5 15/; calves, £2 10/ to £3 10/; good forward dairy cows, £12 to £15; backward, £9 10/ to £10 10/; good forward dairy heifers, £12 to £14 12/6; backward, £8 15/ to £10 10/; bulls, £10 10/ to £16 10/; hoggets, £1 to £1 8/.
