FAR NORTH ARRANGEMENTS,
A public meeting was recently held in the county hall, Kawene, for the purpose of making arrangements for the entertainment of the visitors who are to traverse the county in January. Mr A. C. Yarborough was in the chair and briefly outlined the programme as suggested by the Chamber of Commerce executive. Tho party would arrive at Broadwood on the 23rd and be entertained at a picnic there and would arrive at Kohukohu that evening, a portion of them going on to Rawene. For the following day it was proposed that part of the Kohukohu party go to Manganiaku and part to the Heads, and that half tho Kawene party go to Taheke and the other half to the Heads. The plan of entertainment for the evening was open to discussion. The visitors would leave on the following day for Kaikohc. After considerable discussion as to what form of entertainment should be given it was decided that Rawene elect a committee to confer with the Chamber of Commerce executive after the meeting at Kohukohu on Friday. On Friday evening a meeting was held in Mr Halliday's sample rooms, at Kohukohu, when Mr A. C. Yarborough was voted to the chair. The names of those present not 011 the executive of the Chamber of Commerce were added as a committee to confer with the Kawene committee to arrange a form of entertainment for the visitors.
