THE PEACE MOVE.
REJECTION PREDICTED.
A "FRIGHTFUL" THREAT,
GERM BOMBS AND BLOCKADE.
Australian and N Z. Cable Association. (Press fAlssn.—Reed. 11.10 p.m.) OTTAWA', December 13. The Canadian papers are unanimous that the German peace proposals are premature and will be refused. Sir Robert Borden, who is on a recruiting tour said: "The determination of %he people of this land is against a truce. There will be peace which means peace for many years to come." (United Service.) (Press Assn.—Reed. 11.10 p.m.) AMSTERDAM, December 14. • 'German agents are disemminating rumours of frightfulness if the Entente rejects peace, including the blockading of Britain with 400 submarines and the scattering of germ* laden bombs. AMSTERDAM, December 13. Dutch opinion is that the language of the Note and its presentation when the tAllies have appointed a strong Cabinet shows the hollowness of the German proposal. The Kaiser, recognising Germany's unpopularity throughout the world is merely making a Machiavelian attempt to injure the Entente in neutral eyes.
