FALKENHAYN'S POLICY.
INTERESTING SPECULATIONS,
WHAT WILL THE FUTURE PRODUCE.
Australian and N Z. Cable Association. (Press Assn. —Reed. 5 a. p.m.) LONDON, December 9. The success of General yon Hindenburg's schemes has resulted in many speculations as to how to use General Mackensen's and General Falkenhayn's victorious armies. They will certainly continue the policy of striking at the Allies'weakest spot. Three alternatives are suggested, viz., >an attack on Italy, a blow in the direction of Bessarabia, and on to Odessa via Roumaoia, or an attack on General Sarrail with the hope of bringing in Greece. It, is generally expected that when General Mackensen reaches the RussoRoumanian entrenched front, defending Moldavia, the Germans will also entrench and seek to effect a Roumanian political coup d'etat by mingled flattery and threats. The pro-Allies Government has gone to Jassy, but a strong Germany party has remained at Bucharest capable of forming a Government which the Germans recognise.
