CHRISTCHURCH CITY LOAN.
SALE OF DEBENTURES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, December 9. The loan raised by the Christchurch City Council for the purpose of building municipal offices matures on December 30, but a new loan was arranged for, and the whole amount has been taken up locally at par. The original loan was for £6000, and was raised at 4% per cent. Accrued sinking fund totalled £750, and the amount which has just been raised locally by means of debentures was therefore £3250. It is understood that considering the state of the money market the debentures were sold under satisfactory conditions.
