A cable states that Braid, the wellknown Golfer, has been accidentally killed at Waterloo station, London. Trooper J. J. Penncll, of Onerahi, who was invalided home last March, has completely recovered (from enteric fever) and is now at Feathcrston camp waiting to leave with the U'Oth Reinforcements. The Hon. G. W. Russell. Minister for Internal Affairs is at present in Auckland and this afternoon he will unveil the monument to fallen soldiers at Tuakau. On Monday he is to. attend a meeting of. the Plunket. Society, in Auckland, and at mid-day on, Tuesday he will leave for Hamilton : to .attend:a Pbinket Society meeting there in the. evening. On Wednesday he will visit Cambridge in the morning, open the Kakepu cheese factory at mid-day, and in the afternoon, at Te Awamutu, will meet representatives of the West Taupo district to discuss the formation of local government bodies.
