IN IMPERIAL COUNCIL.
URGED ;BY r MR MASSEY
Australian and N Z. Cable Association. (Press Assn.—Reed. 8.5 p.m.) j LONDON, December 6. Mr Massey. in the course of an interview with the "Pall Mall" strongly urges the" summoning of an Imperial Conference at tho, earliest possi-1 ble moment for the solo purpose of considering the consolidation of the Empire. He has no ambitions or projects on the creation of an Imperial Parliament. However attractive such a scheme might be to enthusiasts it was premature and a much less pretentious structure would meet the present requirements. The creation of an Empire Council with executive power to deal with certain practical questions would be a great step.
