THE NEUTRAL FLAG.
HOLDS NOTHING SACRED. CYPRJtAX BRIDGE'S CAUSTIC ADVICIi Australian and X Z. Cable Association (Press >ssn.—Reed. 11.r>5 p.m.) LONDON, December 4. iA'dmiral Sir Cyprian Bridge states that the arming of merchantmen, which involves the use of 16.000 guns and 32,000 gunners does not mean any difficulty, as British cargoes are aften carried on neutral vessels. The Germans have made i , plain that the neutral flag does not give protection from submarining. 'Admiral Bridge advocates the extensive use of anti-submarine craft, properly supported by the fleet, thus protecting our own as well as neutral merchantmen.
