Mr William .lesse Reeve, formerh Clerk of the Magistrate's Court, Wha iigarei, whence he was transferred t( his present appointment of the sanu character at Stratford, has been in th< Bay of Islands district for a couple o: days on private business. On Satur day Mr Reeve came in to Whangarei and is now the guest of Mr W. Chad win. Word has been received in Whanga rei of the death of Mr W. Garrctt, pro sklent of the Auckland Land Agents Association. On behalf of the Wha ngarei branch Mr W. McKinstrv has sent a wire of condolence, and a wreaU will also be forwarded. Unfortunately the short time of notice will not permii of any of the members from this towr. attending the funeral.
