A peculiar case occupied the hearing of the Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, November 22 (Mr E. W. Burton, BM., presiding), wlicn 12. S. Dukes, M.8.. sued O. ('. Ilanios for the recovery of a "minute hook" on behalf of his present private medical club. He said the book was being held by defendant as secretary of the medical society from which the doctor had resigned in lfll;j. Mr M. N. Skelton, who apepared for the doctor, argued that the present private club (controlled by the doctor) was a continuation of the former society (controlled by its elected committee) and therefore could claim possession. His Worship said that this claim could not be substantiated. There w.i;« no need to ask defendant to make a statement or call his witnesses. The case would be dismissed.
