HELP FROM AMERICA AND SPAIN

Mr Asquith, speaking at the annual meeting of the Belgian Relief Committee at Mansion House, said the in-
tervention of America and Spain had saved the Belgians from starvation. It was one of the finest achievements of humanity and he hoped soon that the Allies would relieve the Belgian people of their present tyranny.
Sir Thomas Alackenzie, speaking of Belgian relief, said he felt sure Now Zealand would do her part, not only in respect of the relief of Belgium, but in winning the war.
