MR. SAMUEL BRYDON.
The death is announced of Ur Samuel Brydon, of Towai, at the age of 60 years. The deceased, who was born in Glasgow (Scotland) in 1856, came to New Zealand by the ship "Resolute" in 1865, landing at Auckland. His parents-settled at Papakura (20 miles, from Auckland) and lived there for some time. As a, young married man the deceased left Papakura for the Wairoa, and from there to Hikurangi to the first timber mill started there, finally settling in Ramarama Valley, about six miles north of Towai. He lived there for about 28 years and during that period won the respect of the people. He leaves to mourn his loss bis wife, four sons (Robert, iSj.muel, Alexander and Archibald) and thres daughters (Mrs Martin, of Potat Chevalier, Auckland; Mrs Sherwin, of Towai; and Miss Ethel Brydon, of Towai). Two of the sons, Samuel and Archibald, have already done their duty to their country In the present war. Archibald (aged 20) went with the second and Samuel (aged 28) with the Sixth Reinforcements. Samuel is still at the front and Archibald is back at home, invalided from enteric fever. The loss of Mr Brydon will be greatly deplored. ,J
