PUBLIC Notice is hereby civen that it is the intention of the Hikuranai Town Board at its next Ordinary Meeting to be held at 7.30 p.m. on TUESDAY, September 7, l&ln, to make the following Rates on all rateable property within the Hikurangi ToAvn District, for the year commencing on the first day of April, 1915, and ending on the 31st March, 1916. -Such Rates to become due and payable in one instalment on the 21st day of September, 1915, to Jas McKinnon, the Board's duly appointed Rate Collector at the Board Office, Alfred street, Hikurangi. The Rate Book and Valuation Roll are open for inspection-during office hours. RATES: 1. A General Rate of in the £ under .the provisions of "The Rating Act, 190.5," and. Section 78 of "The Municipal Corporation Act, 1908." 2. A -Hospital and Charitable Aid Rate of %d in the £ made under Section 41 of "The Hospital and Charitable institutions Act, 1905." 3. A Sanitation Fee of One Pound (£1) for each pan service within the Special Rating Area. '4. An annually recurring Special Rate of 3 1-I6d in the £ to provide interest and sinking fund on Loans, raised for Water Works, made under "The Local Bodies' Loans Act, 1913," anl 'The Municipal Corporations Act, 1908." The General and Hospital and Charitable Aid Rates are amalgamated as provided for under .Section 28 of "The Rating Amendment Act, 1910," and are charged as one rate of 2%d ; n the pound. 5. Water. Rates in respect of the ordinary supply. (a) Upon all lands and buildings to which water is supplied a rate of One Penny.in the Pound but that where such Rate .would be less than ten shillings a Rate of Ten Shillings be levied md \v:here such Rate would exceed •-wo. pounds a Rate of Two Pounds shall be levied. (b) Upon all lands and buildings to which water can be but is not supplied, situate within one hundred yards from any part of the Water Works, the rate shall be One-half of the above-mentioned Rates. (c) Upon all buildings usad as stores or warehouses or for any purpose other than, duelling houses, a Rate not exceeding One-half of the Rates mentioned in paragraph a.
