be members through retirement or resignation, shall be allowed to retain the title of "honourable" . and their railway

passes, will come before the Legislative Council for consideration on Thursday. - Mr. Beehan points out that by Despatch of- November 14, IS9O, the Secretary of State- requested to be informed if the Government of New Zealand deemed that members of the Legislative Council in this Dominion should, on retirement or resignation after continuous service in such Council for not less than ten years, be eligible for recommendation by the Government for Royal permission to the right of title of "honourable" and that the late Mr William Mont-' gomery was allowed to retain.
