The Hon. W. K. .Nikora, who died Iα a private hospital at Te Aroha on '

Thursday has represented the interests of th e Maori race for very many years. He was called to the Upper House in 1913. He owned a very considerable amount of property at Paa* roa and at Matamata. Some years ago he married Rihitoto Maltala, of Paeroa. The hon. gentleman was the first chairman of the Ohinemuri County Council, and since then he has held many prominent positions connected with local bodies throughout the district. H e was" always held in the highest esteem, and consequently a very large circle of friends learne with deep regret of his sudden death. The funeral will take place at Tβ Aroha on Monday next.
