STOCK SALES. j DALGETY AND COMPANY. < Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited,' report having held their usual weekly stock sale at Westfieid on Wednesday, April 21, as under: — Beef: A large yarding, which sold at slightly lower than last week's rates, prime ox declining 10/ to 20/ per head. v Extra heavy prime ox, equal to 41/; prime cow beef, equal to 34/ to 35/; second quality, to 32/ C. Veal: A large yarding and prices were lower than last week's. Heavy runners, up to £3 15 ; vealers, 20/ to 30/; light calves, 6/ to 18/. Mutton: Only a small yarding and prices were in advance, prime sheep making about 1/G per head on last week's rates. Prime heavy wethers, 27/6 to 30/; medium ditto, 25/ to 26/; prime ewes, 22/6 to 25/3; medium, to 22/; unfinished, 15/ to 18/. Lamb: A small yarding and prices were on a par with last week's rates. Pigs: A large yarding and priceß were lower all round. Heavy choppers, to £2 9/;, ba'coners, equal to 4d; porkers, equal to 4Jd per lb. Fat and young calves again came forward in large numbers, and Were lower in price. Runners sold to £5 7/6; heavy suckers, £2 16/ to £3 10/; medium suckers, £2 to £2 15/; lighter, £110/ to £1 18/; light, 18/ to £ 1 8/; small and fresh-dropped, 3/ to ,16, (133 sold). There was less than an average entry of sheep, but all of nice quality. Bidding was spirited, and values .considerably firmer. B. Seddon, of Hamilton, averaged £1 9/7; and 61 from Mr R. T. DouglasxFaiitview, Miranda, averaged £1 9/8. (1098 sheep sold.) The 230 lambs met with a ready sale.
