A conference of the Miners' Federation met at Westminster to discuss the Wales 1 suggestion of a strike unless a twenty .'';pfer' centum advance is conceded.' ■ •:.■•
Mr Runciman sent a message inviting a deputation to meet him at the Board of Trade. It is reported that the conference was disinclined to support the Welsh recommendation. The result of the meeting at the Board of-Trade was not published. Later: The miners' conference passed a re-solution-asking the Government to, summons a national conference."
Mr Walter Runciman met the coalminers at Whitehall to-day.
