ARABIAN BATTLE.
BRITISH-INDIAN VICTORY. TURKS ROUTED. TWO THOUSAND PRISONERS. (Press Assn.—Reed. 3.30 p.m.) LONDON, April 17. The (Government Press Bureau states that the British-Indians drove the Turks from an advance post four adieu south of Shaibat. The attack was made on the 14th on the main line near a wood, where the trenches were well concealed and strengthened by six guns and many machine guns. *
The enemy resisted with the utmost determination, but the 'attack was driven home pluckily, the whole line charging in the face of heavy rifle and machine-gun fire. The Turks retired nineteen miles to Niakahalah. The British-Indians captured two, thousand of the enemy, several ma-chine-guns, and a large quantity of ammunition. The enemy comprised Arabs, two divisions of regulars, with 32 guns. H Tkey are-still retreating.
