A deputation of farmers and representatives of dairy factories in Manawatu, Hawke's Bay, Northern Wairarapa and Rangitikei waited on Mr Fisher, this morninrr in cor-nectio.i with Hie clause in the Inspection of Machinery Act requiring all drivers of engines to be In infective charge. ; Mr C. The Minister said that when the clause was framed he never thought dairy companies would be affected. It was uece.eary in sawmills and flaxmills. When he got back to Wellington he would set the Department working to see if it could not distin- ; vish between machinery dangerous to human life and harmless machinery.. He would' do his best to meet the complaint.
