DECIMATING THE ENEMY

During the recent fighting at Ypres the German guns found the range of the British trenches. The British order to quit ed .their own battery from: checking the advance. Several hundred German infantry and gunners prepared for a hand-to-hand fight. The Germans charged in close order to within twenty-five yards Avhen the final rounds from the guns practically annihilated the German battery and then decimated the German's reserves.
