CANADIAN-AUSTRALIAN RECIPROCITY.
(Press Asn. —Reed. 12.15 a.m.. OTTAWA, November 25. Mr Mcßride, Premier of Vancouver, announced that the question of reci-" procity with Australia is under Cabinet's .consideration. He hoped to - arrange reciprocity in connection with lumber shipments, as British Columbia was only.doing 4 per cent, of the tetal lumber trade with Australia and • ; doing, ten times as much with South ' Africa, wher e lumber rec'oropity prevailed. Now that the Empire was • at war there was an opportunity of building up trade within the Empire by refusing to assisf in building' up foreign countries. This ought to hv a cardinal policy of every British dominion. New Zealand's trade rela- ;| c tions could also be largely developed on similar lines.
