MR WILKINSON AT TOWAI.

On Tuesday evening Mr Wilkinson, the Reform League candidate for the Bay of Islands, held a very successful meeting in the Towai Hall, between fifty and sixty being present. Mr Going, the president of the local branch of the P.R.L., took the chair.
The elector's were treated to a very comprehensive adldress: on the aims and objects of the Reform Party, and. taking the platform, plank by plank, Mr Wilkinson contended that the Government had kept its promises, and pledged himself to support the Reform Government in all its policy n.aasures, but at the same time retained the right to also support beneficial legislation from any source. In regard to the unfortunate positidn existing in the constituency, Mr Wilkinson pointed out that on more than one occasion, in the interests of the party, he had placed himself in the hands of the constituents, but that his opponent refused to take the even chance. After, satisfactory answering many questions a vote of thanks and confidence was put to the meeting and carried.
After the meeting a reception was held in the supper room of the hall, the accommodation of which was taxed to hold the many friends assembled to meet Mr Wilkinson and to wish him success in his campaign.
