(Press Association)
ROTORUA, November' 26
The creditors of De Montaigu, who posed for some time as a count, held a meeting last night and accepted the offer of two local solicitors to pay the secured creditors the bankrupt's debt of £550. The bankrupt had borrowed £200 and" £300 respectively
from- the solicitors, neither knowing that he had borrowed from the other. On discovering it they got a third party named iPalloona to advance bankrupt £550, transferring to the third party securities which were valued at considerably over £550. The solicitors stated that the chief reason for their action was a desire to get rid-of De Montaigu, owing to their anger. At the meeting bankrupt's solicitor said that h e believed De Montaigu's family would pay his debts in full.
It was decided to return to Gladys Squire, formerly known as Countess de Montaigu, furs, lace, and a ring included in Falloona's security which she claimed as hers.
