The Germans are feverishly fortifying' the Dannewerk fortress and the entrenchments north of the Kiel Canal, fearing that the Allies may land troops in SchlesAvig. All the German islands in the North Sea are surrounded with entanglements and are strongly fortified. The Germans are also constructing fortifications along the shores of Ilolstein and on the Western side of the Elbe.
