No hopes are entertained for the remainder of the entombed miners at Huntly, although search parties are still vigorously prosecuting their work. So far 32 bodies have been recovered, and it. is believed that th* death roll will total 43. The cause of the explosion is still a mystery. LATEST. Exploration of the Huntly colliery is retarded by fresh fires in Xo. 5 shaft, midway between the shaft at Huntly and Taupiri west. The body recovered which was at first thought to be that of William Smith, has since proved to be. that of Sey:no.ir Hooper, a married man, employed as trucker. The other three have baen identified as Win. Cowan, under manager; Wm. Brocklebank, Jun., shiftman, married; and John Greener, shiftman. All four bodies were under the debris.
