HAGUE, Sept. 15. Telegrams from Berlin state that the Crown Prince, after the surrender of l.ongwy, took the Pencil commander's proffered sword and, contrary to all military custom, broke it, saying: "You fought us dishonourably; your soldiers used dumdums." Tlie French commander replied: "This is the first time I have heard of the French army using dumdums.'' Berlin correspondents of the Dutch papers say they were shown the supposed dumdums alleged to have been found and declare thdse had. no resemblance to dumdums.
