MR MACDONALD'S ADDRESS.
GISBORNE, May h,
Mr W. D. S. Mac Donald (M.P. for Bay of Plenty) addressed his constituents at Te Karaka last evening and received a unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. He challenged Mr Massey's claim that he had given 20,000 people the right to acquire the freehold. If, said Mr Mac Donald, he remained in power till the crack of doom he could not possibly put as many people on the land as the Liberals had. He criticised the native land policy, and said he did not believe the country would allow the last remnant of land to be taken away from the Maoris.
