GOLF CLUB.
A meeting of the committee of the Whangarei Golf Club was held in Mr Grut's rooms last night. There were present: Messrs Rishworth (chairman), Cooper, Hill, Grut and White.
The committee passed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr Leayzell for making and presenting to the club ladders of competition. /
It was decided that Messrs Haring ton and Ilemphill be appointed mem bers of the committee.
Messrs Rishworth and Grut were appointed as a sub-committee to revise the rules of the club; also to draw up a set of rules governing the ladder competitions and report at next meeting. '
It was decided that arrangements be made to have the putting greens mown and rolled twice a week —Tuesdays and Fridays.
Arrangements were made for running the usual 'bus on Saturday to the links leaving Main's Avenue via Mairtown at 1.15 p.m., the Bank of New Zealand corner at 1.30 p.m. and returning from the golf house at 5.15 p m.
To-morrow a trophy presented to the club by Mr H, Hill will be played for.
