KAURI GUM INDUSTRY.
NEW SCHEME ON FOOT,
DREDGING COMPANY FORMED,
AUCKLAND, May 7.
A scheme is on foot to begin winning gum from swamps by dredging. A company with a capital of £30,000 has been formed for the purpose. The first gum dredge will start operations on tjie swamp at Awanui. The swamps' after' being dredged will be drained and make excellent dairy country.
