Our fruit market has been but lightly supplied lately, and now is* an excellent opportunity for steady shipments of both, dessert apples and pears. Quinces are in light supply, and good coloured tomatoes have improved considerably as far as prices are concerned. New season's walnuts are short in'supply and the same may be said to apply to grapes. The following are actual prices realised during the week:— Apples: Dessert Jonathans, Cox's Orange Pippins, and Senators, from 24 d to 22 d per lb, according to quality; Lord Wolseley, 7/6 per case; Cleopatra and Alfristans, 6/ per case; large green cookers, 5/6 to 5/9. Pears: Dessert sorts very short of supplies; and for Winter Cole, Josephines and Winter Nell is an excellent market is experienced. We quote these varieties-at 2|d to 2fd per lb. This is equivalent to about 8/6 to 9/ per case. Cleargeau, 8/ to 8/6 per case; Kieffer Hybrid, Beurre Bosse, Beurre Deil, and Napoleons, 6/ to 6/9, per case. Walnuts: New season's, 7d per lb. Onions; Choice locals, 6/6 per cwt; pickling onions, small size, lid lb. Honey: New season's, sections, 6/6 per doz."; bulk, 3id to 4d per lb. Quinces: lid to 2d per lb. Cucumbers: Hothouse. 3/6 to 4/6 per doz.; outdoor, 2/6 {o 3/ per box. Citron melons for Jam: Inquired for; 5/ to 6/ per cwt. Red Cabbage: 6/ sack. Pumpkins: 6/ per sack. Messina Lemons: half-cases, 11/6. Grapes: Short supplies, 9d to lOd per lb. Vegetable Marrows: 5/ to 6/ per large sack. Tomatoes: Good lines of high coloured fruit to-day realised 2id to; 2fd; local dessert, 5d per lb. Grain: Deliveries are still very light, and the market assumes a firmer tone. We quote: A Grade Gartons, 2/2; A Grade SpanWbills, 2/2; B Grade Gartons and Sparrowbills, 2/lid per bushel; Duns, 2/1; Black Tartars, 2/1 i;- per bushel f.o.b. Bran: 70/ per ton. Pollard: 130/ per ton. Fowl Wheat: 3/10 per bushel. , Barley: Good plump feed, 2/6 per bushel. ' ~ \ Chaff: New season's for April and May delivery, £ 4 per ton. Hay: New season's, 70/ per ton.
