ASSASSINS FOILED.
ROME, Oct. 4. The newspaper "Secolo" states that the police last week frustrated a Mussulman plot to assassinate Lord Kitchener at Venice while en route to Egypt.
Particulars of the plot suggest that eighteen Egyptian fanatics organised the conspiracy. Lord Kitchener, instead of training to Venice, motored from Misere, and though he was expected to stay at Venice <a fortnight he sailed for Cairo immediately. Later. Members of Lord Kitchener's suite have informed the press that the story is a fabrication.
