A paper dealing with marriage and marriage laws was read by the Bishop of Riverina (N.S.W.) at the Anglican Church Congress in Brisbane. He said the Church set itself against the claims made for more easy divorce laws. Cheap*and easy divorce offered a strong inducement to marital carelessness and 'brutality, and inevitably it made the problem of how to be happy though married unsolvable. He dealt with the decrease in the birthrate, and said they were forced to the unpleasant conclusion that whilst the West, including ourselves, was undermining her strength by her luxury, lack of seriousness, and infidelity, the East, by self-denial, alertness, and numbers, was growing stronger and stronger, and was becoming conscious of her strength. HOW LITTLE THINGS GROW. The idea of the steamboat began by a little boy watching the lid of a kettle being forced up by the steam. And a little cough which is at first too slight to notice may develop into Bronchitis or Consumption. Great things always have small beginnings, and often the sufferer realises his danger when it is too late. Make an effort to stop your cough now. Keep warm and take a course of Baxter's Lung Preserver. Don't wait any longer. Buy a 1/10 bottle to-day from your storekeeper or chemist. You will be glad you tried it.
