The funeral of Nolan, who Was killed during the riots on Saturday, was the occasion of a remarkable demonstration in Dublin. Two miles of mourners, numbering many thousands, tramped five miles to the Glasnevin cemetery, where fifty thousand persons had assembled. The crowd along the route was excited and nervous. At one spot the croy of "Police!" was raise 1. Hundreds of shrieking women, many carrying babies in their arms, hearing the cry, rushed into the shops and hotels. The procession was nearly deserted, except for a few pall-bearers, until the pipers restored order and calmness by resuming the funeral dirge.
