"ONE BAR, ONE LICENSE."
The Presbyterian Church of New Zealand has petitioned Parliament for an amendment of the Licensing Law so as to provide: — (1) That the majority necessary to carry local nolicense and national prohibition be reduced from 60 per cent, to 55 per cent, of the valid votes recorded; (2) that in the event of national prohibition being carried, it should come into operation not more than two years after the poll is taken at which the necessary majority is obtained; (3) that private bars be abolished, and the principle be established of one license, one bar, each such bar to be placed in a room opening directly on to the street.
