£ 150,000 FOR CHARITY.
GENEROUS BEQUEST BY THE LATE MR J. S. FRY, OF BRISTOL.
The will of the late Mr 'Joseph £25,0000 to the Bristol Gneeral Hosproved, the estate being provisionally sworn at £700,000. There were bequests to many charitable and religious institutions, amounting altogether to about £150,000.
Among the larger legacies are £25,000 to the Bsirtol General Hospital (of which the testator was president and treasurer), £20,000 to the Friends' Foreign Mission Association, and £5000 each to the Bristol Royal Infirmary, Jubilee Convalescent Home, Blind Asylum, Muller's Orphanage, Foreign Bible Society, and Bristol Benevolent Institution.
In addition the following .receive £3000 each: —Bristol Branch of the London Missionary Society, Baptist Missionary Society, Friends' Home Misionary Committee, China Inland Mission and Zenana, Bible and Medical Mission, while £2500 is bequeathed to Dr Barnardo's Home and £2000 to the East London Institute for Home and Foreign Missions.
Provision is made for employees of the firm of over five years" standing, while the residuary estate is left equally among his nephews and nieces, thirty-seven in number.
