THE FRENCH ARMY.
REASONS FOR PRESENT ACTIVITY
PARIS, March 15,
The Budget Committee has reduced the army vote by eight million francs, which it is estimated can be saved by the new method of production of howitzers. It is definitely stated that the French army preparations are due to the Italian Parliament revealing that the German Secretary for War had asked Italy whether she would be ready to take the field in October to end European uneasiness.
