PANIC AT A WRECK.
BERLIN, March 15. Inquiry into the loss of the steamer Calvados, which struck a reef off the island of St. Andre, shows that a storm prevailed at the time, and the passengers gave way to panic. Some jumped overboard and others were washed away. The bulk landed on a small rock, and reached the island later. Twenty-seven lay exposed on the rock for two days, seven being frozen to death.
