HIGH COURT APPOINTMENTS.

SYDNEY, March 14
The Council of the Incorporated Law Institute is not pleased with the latest appointments to the High Court and forwarded to Mr. Fisher resolutions: "That in order to ensure that the High Court when it sits as a Court o? Appeal from the Supreme Courts of the States shall retain the fullest measure of confidence of the public, it is essential that appointments thereto should be made from the foremost ranks of the profession," and " that the council notices with regret two recent appointments, and fears a dangerous precedent has been created.
