ANOTHER HEAVY GALE.
SYDNEY, March 13. A " double-headed" antarctic disturbance, which covered the whole south-east of Australia yesterday, was one of the most energetic experienced for some time. Two yachts are ashore in the harbour. The ketch Brothers had a portion of her sails Carried away off North Head, and a tug had to go to the rescue. Several buildings were unroofed. At its maximum velocity the wind reached sixty miles an hour. At Newcastle the storm It is said was one of the severest for some time. Heavy squalls were experienced of rain and hail. The Lambton fire station was wrecked, and several roofs torn off. The velocity of the wind was seventy-five miles. ADELAIDE, March 13. A violent westerly sent two yachts ashore. The smashed schooner Albatross also sank in the gale. The French vessel General De Sonis, wheat laden, dragged her anchors and grounded.
