MISHAPS BY LAND AND WATER.

Frank Baillie, 2S, single, was killed at Ahuahu on Saturday by a fall of earth. He was working in the centre of a gang when the fall occurred, and had no chance.
DUXEDIX. Jan. 20
Joseph Clarke, 4;J, married, and Charles William Turv?y. 28, married, were drowned at St. Clair beach yesterday while surf bathing. The bodies were quickly recovered.
GISBORXE, Jan. 20
Daniel McCarran, alias Mcllray, single, was drowned while surf bathing at Waikanae beach on Saturday. He went out some 200 yards and was seen to throw up his hands and sink. The body was washed up fifteen minutes later.
