WONDERFUL WARD.
"MADE EUROPE PAUSE."
AT THE PEOPLE'S EXPENSE.
INVERCARGILL, June 5. Sir J. G. Ward was entertained at a banquet last night. Replying to the toast, he contrasted the conditions of the country 25 years ago and now. Ward's name was famous throughout the Empire. Ward's Dreadnought offer had made Europe pause.
