General Lyantry reports that Colonel Gouranz' column made a sortie against the Moors ten kilometers north-east of Fez. He shelled a large encampment, causing the enemy's flight.to the mountains. Many were left dead on the field. The French had 9 killed and 28 wounded, including Redman, a,n English non-commis-sioned attachad to the Sultan's army. General Brulard, speaking at the funeral, paid a high tribute to Redman's courage.
