NEW YORK, Feb. 16. An epidemic of train wrecks has occurred in North America recently
Two freight trains collided near North Yarmouth. The wreckage was burned, and three trainmen lost their lives in the flames.
The fireman of one locomotive was pinned beneath the debris in a mangled condition. He asked for something to kill his terrible pain. The doctor administered chloroform, and late- - fire swept down, burning the man to ashes. Nine cars on an East-bound Pennsylvania railroad express were derailed at Huntington, four persons being billed and 25 injured.
A third wreck occurred in TJzah, where a locomotive jumped down an embankment, and crasheed through several houses, killed three employees in a tailor's shop.
The locomotive finally fell through the roof of a bank, the clerks of which narrowly escaped. . The enginedriver was killed.
