In the Auckland-Otago cricket match yesterday the visitors were dismissed for 123 runs, towards which Thompson contributed 54, Mason made 12, Ellis 15 (not out) and Jones. 13.
Downes took 5 wickets for 48; Torrance, 2 for 43; Ramsdeu, 1 for 4; Eckhold, 2 for 23.
Otago have lost one wicket for 52. Hopkins and Macfarlane are the notouts, with 23 and 22 respectively.
(N.B. —This is not a Plunket Shield match. All Shield matches must be played on the ground of the holders).
