MR WILFORD'S SEAT.

An interesting , point regarli iff the position of the member for Hutt (Mr T. M. Wilford) has been discussed among

some of the old hands in Parliament. Mr Wilford, as is well known, was obliged to take a trip to England for health reasons. He plans to be back for the main session commencing in June, but lie must miss the special session. The seat of any member of Parliament shall become vacant "if for one whole session of the General Assembly"—to quote the Legislative Act —"he fails, without permission of the House, to give his attendance." It is hardly likely that anyone would object. under the circumstances, to Mr Wilford being given leave for the whole session, so that this point, beyond raising an interesting private discusision, is not likely to concern the House.
